Legal Counsel- Job Description
This is a fantastic opportunity for a mid-level experienced legal professional to join a dynamically scaling company in the life sciences and tech services sector as a founding member of its legal function. You will play a key role in shaping the company’s legal and operational foundation from the ground up.
As Legal Counsel at Intelligencia AI, you will work closely with teams across the organization to manage a wide range of legal matters critical to the company’s success: from drafting and negotiating agreements to advising on regulatory and compliance issues. Your ability to think strategically while being hands-on and practical will be essential in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
This is an international role based in Athens with a strong focus on U.S. legal matters, supporting Intelligencia’s global operations. The ideal candidate brings sound judgment, a strong sense of ownership, and a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset to every interaction.

- Provide legal advice on a broad range of matters including commercial, corporate governance, strategic transactions, regulatory compliance, employment, and data privacy.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including SaaS agreements, vendor and service agreements, NDAs, and strategic partnerships.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including senior management and cross-functional teams (e.g., Product, Commercial, People Operations, Engineering and Data Science) to support business and strategic initiatives and ensure legal compliance in daily operations.
- Develop, implement and maintain internal policies, processes, and training programs to mitigate legal risk and support scalable growth.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to stay abreast of relevant legal and regulatory developments and provide proactive advice to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
- Manage relationships with external counsel globally, engaging them as needed for specialized matters. Ensure legal spend is aligned with budget and that services are delivered at a high standard of quality and responsiveness.
- Oversee the day-to-day administrative operations of the legal function, including document management, tracking deadlines, and coordinating internal legal workflows.
What you’ll bring to the team
- 3–5 years of post-qualification experience in Greece or the US, preferably in an in-house international role or with a reputable law firm, in the areas of technology, life sciences, corporate, or commercial law.
- Qualified to practice law in Greece or the US (other jurisdictions may be considered).
- Strong experience in contract drafting and negotiation, ideally across jurisdictions.
- Experience with U.S. corporate governance is considered a strong plus.
- Ability to balance attention to detail with strategic thinking and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
- Commercially driven, with strong business acumen and a practical, risk-based approach to legal problem-solving.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with confidence in interaction with other functions, clients and partners.
- Strong organizational, project, and time management skills; able to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
- Intellectual agility and resilience to handle complex legal issues with multiple stakeholders and deliver actionable, business-friendly advice under tight deadlines.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to identify legal issues, propose mitigations and explain complex matters in clear, accessible language.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus.
Nice to have
- Experience with intellectual property, licensing, and/or data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Familiarity with SaaS business models or the biotech/pharma industry.
- Prior experience at a high-growth startup or scaling organization.
